Job Description

Our client, one of the leading international banks based in the UK is seeking a senior investment banker to head up the business in the region. The incumbent will b responsible for managing existing client engagements, managing and closing current deals, current relationships with clients and corporate partners, and mainly generating new business for the firm. The incumbent will be assigned a wide variety of projects and will be given added leadership and responsibility as experience and capabilities permit.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s Degree in finance/ accounting or any other related discipline, post graduate degree highly desirable
  • 15+ years' experience in investment banking role within international banks
  • Previous success and proven track record in new business development and closing investment banking transactions, book of business contacts preferred
  • Deep understanding of the capital marketplace, including deal multiples, pricing, structure, potential financing sources and buyers, and an ability to develop capital-raising strategies and execute upon those strategies

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the ongoing performance management process ensuring all Management leaders and employees are informed, trained and coached on all aspects of performance appraisals, ratings, KPIs, etc.
  • Coach leaders on writing performance reviews and holding meaningful ongoing conversations with their employees
  • Partner with senior leadership to set and properly cascade effective company goals
  • Build and manage project plan for performance management processes, systems, training, communications, etc., including goal setting
  • Communicate, train and provide guidance and tools to leaders and employees to accomplish performance objectives
  • Lead the change leadership necessary to evolve our culture and the behaviors of leaders and employees to move towards this more progressive approach to managing performance
  • Research and establish Competency Models for the various positions in the organisation
  • Designs and develops standards for competency assessment for recruitment, development and promotions of employees
  • Implements the competency framework system within the Group and trains Managers to carry out competency assessment, determine employee development needs and provide support
  • Design performance calibration sessions to ensure objective talent decisions are made in a fair and transparent manner
